This picture remained unfinished at del Sarto's death, and was afterwards retouched by Vincenzo Bonilli of Poppi, who added the date on St. Catherine's wheel, A.D. MDXXXX., ten years after del Sarto's death. In October 1531, Lucrezia, his widow, received seventy lire in payment for this work.
